Kimberly Moore - Social Studies

Kimberly Moore was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.  Ms. Moore is a graduate of Westlake High School (Fulton County) where she was actively involved in many student organizations.  Ms. Moore was ranked number 5 in her graduating class.  She began her educational career after graduating cum laude from Spelman College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Secondary Education.  Ms. Moore furthered her studies by obtaining a Master’s degree and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.

 

 

Ms. Moore is a thirteen year veteran of the Atlanta Public School System.  She has worked all thirteen years at Booker T. Washington High School.  As a teacher in the School of Health Science and Nutrition, Ms. Moore brings a wealth of knowledge in the study of social sciences.  She has also worked with students in a variety of clubs, organizations, and activities including Student Government Association, Band Auxiliary, Track and Field, Close Up, Homecoming, 9th Grade JumpStart to Success, and Project GRAD Student CADRE.

 

Ms. Moore has always worked closely with the administration in a variety of roles.  As an instructional supervisor, Ms. Moore has supervised, observed and evaluated teachers, assisted in the development of the School Achievement Plan, coordinated the Saturday Scholars program, led the Leadership Team, coordinated awards programs, supervised student teachers, mentored new teachers, managed textbook and supply inventories, and developed standardized testing remediation sessions.  As an administrative assistant, Ms. Moore has disciplined students, organized the health and wellness fair, coordinated college fairs, developed a prescribed program of study for students, established business and educational partnerships, and assisted in the daily operation of the school.

 

Ms. Moore is a committed and hard working individual whose goal it is to see every student succeed.  She believes that every student can succeed and will succeed when educated in a nurturing, supportive and caring educational environment.
