Greetings! 

Reading is Fun! Reading is Great! My name is Malena Mitchell and I am the Marvelous Media Specialist here at Bethune Elementary Home of the Eagles! I have been a media specialist for 3 years and prior to joining the Bethune family I was a high school Spanish teacher for 4 years.

This year I plan get students excited about reading by hosting book fairs in December and May and bringing story tellers to entertain students and promote the love of reading. I also hope to introduce students to Web 2.0 tools such as PhotoStory and Capzles as we create technology projects for Georgia’s Media Festival in March 2013.

I am a Georgia Bulldog and graduated from UGA in 2004 and in 2009 I received a Masters of Education in School Library Media from the University of West Georgia. Just recently I received a Specialist of Education degree in Instructional Technology from University of West Georgia. My hobbies are reading (of course!), shopping online and everything else that involves a computer and the internet!
