Trina Yvonne Hicks-Hughley is a 4^th grade teacher at Heritage Academy. Mrs. Hughley has been with Atlanta Public Schools for 17 years. Fourteen of those years have been spent teaching Middle school, and three of those years have been spent at Heritage Academy Elementary School.

Mrs. Hughley is a native of Atlanta and a proud product of the Atlanta Public School System. Mrs. Hughley received her degree from Fort Valley State University and has studied Educational Administration at the University of West Georgia.

Mrs. Hughley has served on the leadership team for over 12 years. She has served as department chair, grade level chairperson, cheerleading coach, debate team facilitator, SGA Facilitator, and team leader. Mrs. Hughley has been awarded "Who’s Who Amongst America’s Teacher’s" in 1997 and in 2004. She was recently awarded the Project Grad Exemplary Teacher Award in 2010-2011.

  Mrs. Hughley truly loves teaching and she attributes one of her greatest accomplishments in what she calls “having taught full circle”. This means that now she is having the pleasure of teaching some of her former student’s children.
