Hello, my name is Mrs. Marchketa Smallwood, and I am so elated that you have entrusted me with your little one this school year. I am originally from San Jose, CA but have been in Georgia for over twenty of my thirty- six years. I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Shorter University, and am currently working on my Master’s Degree at Ashford University. I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for school success. Throughout the year, I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, progress reports, emails, and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. I am anticipating teaching, as well as learning, from your scholars. Your child’s regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his/her success. All of the 1st grade learning activities are critical. School is a priority, please see to it that your child is on time, and attends every day, except in cases of illness or emergencies. This year will be filled with greatness, and we will learn so much throughout this school year. Let’s work together to ensure that this is a successful and dynamic year. We can do it!!!
