Below is an outline of PTA committees for the 2011-2012 school year. Please read the following descriptions and sign up if you can help. Please make a note if you would like to chair or co-chair a committee. Most of the ground work is already done, but we need volunteers to take the lead. The PTA is a great way to get involved with your school, assist the staff, and raise money for enrichment programs. The time commitment is small, but the rewards are HUGE! There is a committee for every interest and talent. Please take a moment to look over the volunteer opportunities, and then choose the committee you will enjoy. Please contact Sally Alcock, PTA Co President and Volunteer Chairperson with any questions, (cell/text: 404.664.9443 / sally@sallyalcock.com). You may also download the Volunteer Checklist/Survey and drop it off in the PTA mailbox located in the Fred Armon Toomer Elementary School’s front office, 65 Rogers Street, NE. PTA Volunteer Survey / Form Right now, there are five current fund-raising committees that help raise money for the PTA. Each year these groups raise money to support field trips, add new supplies and equipment to the classrooms, assist with established programs, and add enrichment programs for our students. The fund-raising committees are: Flea Market – Saturday, October 2nd
This Fall fundraiser gives the Toomer and Kirkwood community an opportunity to enjoy a flea market. Includes distribution of flyers, collecting flea market participants and funds, set-up, and clean-up. This annual December event is our biggest fund-raiser. Volunteers are needed for dinner planning, set-up and clean-up.
