PLEASE BE SURE TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD & PICK UP THEIR  READING RECORD

 FOR THE ATLANTA FULTON COUNTY SUMMER READING PROGRAM!!

Summer Reading 2013 Theme:   “Dig Into Reading ”

Registration begins June 1^st  at all Atlanta Fulton County Public Libraries

Hours of operation:

All summer, the Atlanta Fulton branch libraries will provide a wide variety of books and reading materials, feature storytelling hours, puppet shows or music presentations that stimulate children’s creativity and help bring literature and language to life: and promote the idea of reading  for enjoyment. A variey of children’s programs such as puppet shows will also be offered  at the Northside Branch during the summer.  A schedule of these programs can be acquired at the library.   

Studies have shown that school-age children who continue to read throughout their summer vacation maintain or improve language, vocabulary and reading skills, while children who do not read are more likely to see decreases in those skills.

• Brandon students register for Summer Reading Program at the public library.
• Complete the reading record with at least 10 books, books can be from the library or anywhere!!
• Return the record to the public library and receive an OFFICIAL READING CERTIFICATE.
• Bring the certificate back to “Mrs. Z” when school begins in August or at OPEN HOUSE.
• This certificate is your child’s ticket to the Primary Center’s :

 “Super Summer Reading Celebration with MRS Z”  -

This celebration will take place in late August at Brandon Primary.

So, please save that certificate, be sure your child’s name is on it along with the teacher’s name.

**This  Summer Reading Program is made possible by a grant from the Friends of the Northside Library and the Georgia  Public Library Service  to promote the use of your neighborhood library.  Therefore, certificates will only be accepted from a public library!
