LaNikah Ware truly believes, “If students do not learn it today, teach it again tomorrow in a different way.” Ms. Ware recognized her love for working with children since her junior year in high school when she spent a summer working at a Girl Scout Camp.

Ms. Ware attended Valdosta State University and Central Michigan University. She started her teaching career at a pre-school in Henry County, Georgia. In 1999, she began teaching second grade at Daniel H. Stanton Elementary, another Atlanta Public School. Ms. Ware quickly became known as a “bell to bell” teacher, utilizing every minute for student instruction; and had perfect attendance. She understands that her attendance and time management skills are a direct link to student achievement. She has a passion for teaching and enjoys planning and implementing lessons.  She utilizes the best practices outlined by Atlanta Public Schools daily. Her engaging lesson reaches all the learners in her classroom.  Ms. Ware was named as “Project Grad Master Teacher” in 2003 due to her implementation of Success For All Program. In 2004-2005, as a fifth grade teacher, she was named as the “Teacher of the Year” at Daniel H. Stanton and a finalist for the entire system.

Presently, MsWare is a second grade teacher at Heritage Academy. She has returned to the very grade she began her public school career with the hopes of making a difference.   Now, that she knows what is expected of third and fifth graders, she can prepare her second graders for the coming years.  Ms. Ware continues to expect excellence from herself and her students.   During her teaching career, Ms. Ware has served as the grade level chair for second and fifth grades, the teacher liaison for the PTA, Leadership Team, and Mentor Teacher.  She has also received a Reading Endorsement and is currently enrolled in Project Grad Master Math Teacher Lab.

Ms. Ware enjoys being with her family and friends.  When not in the classroom, she likes shopping, graphic designing, and spending time with her nephew, Jayden.  She is an active of member of Fairfield Baptist Church, Redan, Georgia.  She is involved in the Youth Ministry, the New Vision Choir and an instructor for Wednesday Night Bible Study.
