Young Women’s Leadership Academy


At the academy we say, “CSKYWLA”, which means to be empowered by love, nonviolent social change, and scholarship.” We are a single gender school for girls. We begin each day with the pledge of allegiance, our student creed, and our student pledge. In addition to this, the principal provides the staff and students with a message for how to operate throughout the day.
 
At Coretta Scott King YoungWomen’s Leadership Academy, we believe that ALL means ALL. It isour position that everyone is accountable for student learning and growth;therefore, we expect ALL members of our school community to demonstratehigh standards for excellence, and actively communicate high expectations for ALL. Our fundamental purpose is to increase student achievement and prepare ALLof our students for success in middle school through college and beyond. ALLmembers of our school community will seek to educate the whole child throughrigorous curriculum standards, relevant and effective instruction, timely andauthentic assessments, and an extended learning program that provides richSTE[a+]M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and the Arts)experiences.
