Curriculum Overview

The Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy is committed to providing a positive, challenging, and academically oriented learning environment for all young women.  All students will be actively involved in demonstrating mastery of the curriculum guided by the Georgia Performance Standards.  We will provide learning activities which require high levels of critical thinking and reasoning, accompanied by application of learning to real-world situations, and the development of leadership skills.  Additionally, an emphasis on reading, writing, and speaking skills will be evident across the curriculum. Along with a strong academic program, there are many opportunities for our students to learn about leadership, dance, music, technology, art, and health & wellness.
