International Literacy Month
September is Adult Literacy Month. During September local classes have recognition programs to spotlight the Adult Education Program. The work that we do is emphasized to bring awareness of the benefits adults receive after upgrading their education and/or obtaining a GED.
Quarterly Professional Learning Sessions:
All Adult Education staff members attend Professional Learning sessions each quarter. These sessions are design to maximize teachers' effectiveness in preparing adult learners for the new GED test. The sessions focus on a variety of concepts including best classroom practices, technology implementation, career and college readiness, and other areas of interest in Adult Education.
