Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! As we embark on a new school year, it is a joy to use our website to share news and information about the D.M. Therrell School of Health Sciences & Research. We are committed to working in partnership with our parents to provide broad, comprehensive opportunities and a superior quality academic curriculum, individualized to allow students to realize their highest potential and gain a lifelong love for learning. Our mission is to provide an environment in which all students can learn the skills necessary to become caring, creative and productive individuals of our society. We know that you would like to see your child in a nurturing environment, which promotes learning as a lifelong process that enables them to be an educated, confident, self-directed, positive member of an ever-changing global society.

As we strive to make our vision come to fruition, communication is an integral part. This year, we focus on instruction in math and science, literacy acquisition and the co-construction of a new school culture. We are determined to continue to work with students, parents, faculty, staff and administration and industry partners to provide a standards based, data- driven instructional program that we continuously monitor and analyze to improve and enhance student achievement.

Through their education at HSR, our students continue to gain the skills, strategies, and desire necessary for continued learning. They develop a strong sense of responsibility for themselves and toward each other, their community, and the earth's resources. To this end, our friendly faculty and staff have created a rich multicultural environment for learning; have designed an integrated curriculum with strong technology, math, science, language arts, social studies and aerospace components. They will enable your children to become self-directed learners; and they share their enthusiasm for learning, in an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation.

To ensure that all children will reach their potential we maintain high expectations and promote academic excellence for all students. We have created and support a school environment in which all children and adults feel welcomed, respected, trusted, and an important part of the school.
