9th – 11th Grade Scheduling for 2020-2021
Selection of courses for next school year will begin January 30-31. Each student will have 4 opportunities to select and/or change course selections. The scheduling timeline is below.
January 15-17: 10th grade counselor visited all 10th grade literature and AP Language classes to review IB DP and IB CP. Students completed an intent form to indicate interest.
January 30-31: Students will receive a registration sheet to take to all classes. Teacher and student should discuss the next class in the sequence and what class is recommended.
February (all month): Every student will have a one-on-one meeting with his/her counselor to discuss and review course selections.
10th grade students who are interested in IB DP or IB CP will receive additional guidance.
February 11: 10th graders who meet certain criteria are invited to attend an information meeting about One Goal during advisement.
February 12: Deadline to submit Dual Enrollment Letter of Intent.
February 18: Students interested in dual enrollment must attend an information session at 6 pm in the theater. Parents must attend also.
February 18: Seniors interested in taking the Peer Leadership class may attend an information session about the class and the application process.
March 6: Students will receive a copy of the courses requested to take home and review with parent/guardian. The first Drop/Add period opens. Students may request changes in writing by returning the Drop/Add section on the course request form.
March 13: The first Drop/Add period closes. Counselors make any changes to course requests.
March 20: Students receive a copy of courses requested to take home and review with parent/guardian. The last Drop/Add period opens.
March 27: The last Drop/Add period closes. Counselors make any changes to course requests. This is the LAST opportunity to drop or add a course (unless a student passes a class in summer school or fails a class in the spring semester.)
April: The schedule for next year will be built based on course requests.
August: Students will pick up schedules at the Celebration of Learning or on the first day of school. No schedule changes will be allowed (unless a student passes a class in summer school or fails a class in the spring semester.)
