Pearls of Purpose
The Pearls of Purpose Foundation, Incorporated is offering its annual scholarship to deserving Atlanta Public and Fulton County high school seniors. Please take a moment and review the enclosed application material. In order to be considered for this award, students must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:
- A)Be a four-year, college-bound high school senior in an Atlanta Public or Fulton County Schools.
- B)Cumulative GPA of 80/2.7 or above on a 100/4.0 scale.
- C)SAT OR ACT Score
In addition, students must submit the following items with their completed applications:
- Two letters of recommendation including at least one from a teacher andone from a community service reference.
- Documentation of Community Service
- A 200 – 300 word typewritten essay on one of the topics listed in section V of the Application.
- A brief typewritten biographical sketch.
All completed applications and supporting material must be postmarked by April 10, 2019.
As always, Pearls of Purpose Foundation looks forward to rewarding area youth with financial assistance to a college or university of their choice. Awards for African-American or Black students pursuing an associates, undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees in Public Affairs, Mass Communications, African-American Studies, Legislative Affairs, Pre-Law, Criminal Justice, American History and/or Juris Doctor (Deadline: March 31, 2019)
Established in honor of the late Curtis Mayfield to assist African-American or Black students pursuing performing arts careers (Deadline: March 31, 2019)
Awards for African-American or Black students who are pursuing a degree in the visual arts (Deadline: March 31, 2019)
Awards for African-American or Black students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a health-related field (Deadline: March 31, 2019)

Essay Contest Is On!
1,000 words may be all that stand between a student and up to $1500 in scholarship funds!
For thirty one years, the Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association essay contest has exposed thousands of high school seniors and their families to the life safety and property protection attributes of fire sprinklers.
The Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association awards scholarships annually in the amount of $1500, $1000, and $750 to high school seniors through an essay writing contest.

2019 Scholarship Award – Stop Driving While Distracted Video
One applicant will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship for the 2019 fall semester. To apply for the 2019 Scholarship Program, applicants must submit an original video (no longer than 60 seconds) based on the theme below using the program submission form. Please submit a shared link to your video, uploaded to a cloud based platform (ex: Google Drive or Dropbox). YouTube or Vimeo videos will not be accepted. Please note, video submissions from finalists will be uploaded to the L+D YouTube channel.
