At The B.E.S.T Academy students may participate in various extra-curricular activities. Research indicates that, through these activites, students learn character-building skills that can be applied both in their studies and to their lives. Athletics, music, theater and other activities teach students how to discipline themselves through practices, drills, or rehearsals. By participating in extra-curricular activities, students gain a sense of self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Extracurricular activities give students pride in their accomplishments. And, according to Rombokas (2002) team sports are an excellent way to build character.
