    BASC-3 BESS Universal Screener (Review360)

Parent Instructions for the BASC-3 BESS Universal Screener (Review360)

In our continuing efforts to support the well-being of all students, we will be administering a universal screener of social, emotional & behavioral health. The universal screener that was chosen by the District to help identify student strengths and areas for growth is the BASC-3 BESS (Behavior and Emotional Screening Scale). The assessment is on the Review360 platform and consists of a brief rating scale that will aid in identifying students who may be at risk to develop academic or other school-related concerns.  We acknowledge the importance of parent input into this screening process, therefore parents of students in grades Pk-12 are invited to complete a brief rating scale about their student(s).  Together, this information helps us to understand the needs of all students, and to make effective plans to support those needs at the school, class, and individual levels.

    • On 9/7, parents of students in grades PK-12th grade are invited to submit screener information for their students here.
Parents will need their student’s student ID number to complete the BASC-3 BESS parent form.
    • The fall administration of the screener for students will begin on 9/19.

    • If you would prefer to have your student Opt-Out of the BASC-3 assessment you must complete one of the attached forms in English or Spanish, and return by 9/14/2022

    • If you prefer or need a paper copy of the screener to complete it for your student, please contact Dr. Tara Walker (Tara.Walker@apsk12.org)

    • For support/technical assistance with completing the parent screener, please contact Dr. Hervey at via email shannon.hervey@atlanta.k12.ga.us

    • For more information about the screener please visit: https://www.atlantapublicschools.us/Page/67035
