Philosophy The philosophy of the Carver Early College Media Center is to develop independent learners who are information literate and lifelong users of libraries.
Mission The mission of the Carver Early College Media Center is to ensure that all students and staff are effective and ethical users of ideas and information; students are empowered to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and skillful researchers.
Staff Planning Procedures Before your class begins a research assignment, we will help you develop an engaging, standards-based research assignment for your students. We can also assist with bibliographic instruction and rubric development. After our planning session, your class visit will be scheduled.
Hall Passes Students must have an official media center hall pass. Official hall passes are available in the media center. A maximum of 4 students per period will be accepted with a valid hall pass. For groups more than 4 students, please plan with the media specialists prior to the media center visit.
Student Internet Use Student Internet time should be planned with specific instructional goals. Every student must have an "Acceptable Use Agreement Policy" signed by a parent or guardian to use the computers and the computer network of Atlanta Public Schools.
