I am a Georgia native. I was born in Augusta and raised in DeKalb County. I am a product of Dekalb County Schools and returned to teach in DeKalb after completing my undergraduate degree from Georgia State University. I believe in continuing my own education and have completed my Master's degree from Grand Canyon University and my Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial in Tennessee. I've had the pleasure of educating children in DeKalb County for 5 years and most recently I have taught in Atlanta Public Schools for the past 4 years. I have a wide variety of experiences including teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, and Special Education grades K, 1st, 2nd, & 5th. Personally, I love to read and my passion is teaching students. I cannot explain the joy I receive from the smiles on my student's faces. We are truly a family. I'm looking forward to this year and especially maintaining a positive learning environment. I want all my students to LOVE learning and LOVE learning at THES!

I am excited to be working as paraprofessional in 1st grade this year. I love helping students learn and watching them grow. I have a BA from Rice University and a Master of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining the Thomasville team, I was a librarian working with children and students in public and academic libraries. I am a native Texan, but have been proud to live in Atlanta for the past 8 years. I love reading, cooking, running, camping, and traveling with my husband and two school-aged daughters.
