• Small Business Pathway: Entrepreneurship Ventures-

    Youth EntrepreneursTM of Georgia (YE-of G) is a privately funded business program hosted in public high schools through Georgia Pacific that teaches students free-enterprise fundamentals through hands-on learning activities, including a final project of writing and presenting a workable business plan. YE-of G students will learn about different types of businesses and the many aspects of running a business.

     The goal of the program is to spark students' interest in owning their own business or creating value as an employee by "thinking like an owner." YE-of G's role is to reveal avenues of opportunity for young people who dare to dream.

     This program offer students:

    Small Business Pathway: Legal Environment of Business

     General Electric - Street Law, Inc.

    Street Law, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides quality curricula, professional development, and resources to educate about law, democracy, and human rights. For more than 40 years, Street Law has trained teachers, lawyers, law students, and community leaders to teach young people about practical law and the legal profession. 

     The program pairs corporate lawyers and paralegals with nearby, diverse high school classes.  The legal volunteers are trained to develop and teach interactive lessons and visit their partner classes a few times to teach about civil law and legal careers.  The corporation then hosts a one-day conference where the students participate in exciting, interactive workshops and simulations of legal activities and attended a career fair.

    Youth Business Institute (YBI)

    YBI is a program operating in various states and is designed to prepare high school students for the workforce, introduce them to careers in the retail business, and provide job opportunities and scholarships.   In Georgia only Therrell and Mays are sponsored by The TJX Companies, Inc. and taught by TJX associates.
