The EAV Runfest is a festival of races, benefitting the Burgess-Peterson PTA that takes place the morning of the annual East Atlanta Strut Arts Festival. In the inaugural year, 2014, the EAV Runfest raised $3,400 for the PTA. Burgess-Peterson Academy serves the students and families of East Atlanta Village and The Strut Festival is a fixture of the community. The Burgess-Peterson PTA partnered with a talented Race Directing crew in order to bring a USATF Certified road race to our community. Not only does this event raise money for programs and professional development, but also promotes community involvement and fitness among our students. In preparation for the EAV Runfest, students and parents participate in running clubs, hand-make medals for award winners, help promote the race and volunteer on race day. While the EAV Runfest promotes community involvement among our parents and students, the main purposes of the event are to raise money for programming and professional development. As the event continues to grow each year, we need the support of our families to make it successful and to provide a fun, safe atmosphere for all participants.
