Our students receive additional enrichment opportunities called “Super Specials”. These are unique to each grade and student developmental level.
All students K – 5 have a weekly Media Center time with our Media Specialist. Students will return and check out books and will also learn media and research skills.
All students K – 5 will learn Digital Citizenship and other 21st Century Technology skills, taught by a certified teacher. Our 3rd – 5th will receive this instruction weekly, with our primary grades receiving a more developmentally appropriate schedule and pacing.
Career Lessons & Classrom Guidance
Our counseling department will ensure all of our students K – 5 will receive college and career readiness lessons. In addition, classroom guidance will focus various grade levels on understanding self and others; coping strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and study skills; substance education; and multicultural awareness.
Social Emotional Learning & Health
Classroom teachers will lead the teaching of our explicit Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Health curriculums during our “Super Specials” block of time. Each student will receive at least one weekly lesson in both SEL and Health.
In the 4th and 5th grade, our students receive 30 minutes of Spanish weekly. This is a graded course.
