  • Sharon Mangum, Math Lab Specialist

I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but I have also lived in Pennsylvania, Washington state, Augusta, GA and Washington, DC.  This is my 16th year of teaching in Atlanta.  I have taught at Benteen Elementary and at Drew Charter School, specializing in math and science.  I joined the Purpose Built Schools staff at Thomasville last year, and I will split my time between there and Slater this year.  I have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher.  I absolutely love working with children, and I can’t wait to help grow your wonderful students.  I am looking forward to a fabulous year of learning and achievement at Slater Elementary School!

  •  I'm Ms. Bruce- Spence and I'm elated to be here at Slater this year!  Over my 20 year teaching career I've taught every grade P- 8th with the exception of 6th grade.

I am a graduate of LaGrange College and Troy State University,  where I received both my M.S. and E.S. in Early Childhood Education.

I have three children and 3 grandchildren!  I believe that all children can learn and I'm passionate about making it happen.
