Barack and Michelle Obama Academy
Please Note:
Transportation is available to students living in pre-determined boundaries from their Power Up Summer Program host sites. The Atlanta Public Schools transportation policy dictates that bus stops are placed outside the shortest 1 mile navigation of elementary schools, and 1½ mile navigation of middle and high schools. Students living less than the 1 mile or 1 ½ mile boundaries are assigned to the walk-zone. KinderCamp: Benteen [Hosted at Parkside]
KinderCamp is an opportunity for children and their parent to learn routines, become comfortable with the school environment, and ensure that they are Day One ready for Kindergarten. Benteen's KinderCamp program will be hosted at Parkside.

Benteen Power Inquiry Academy [Hosted at Parkside ES]
Frederick Wilson Benteen’s Power Up Inquiry academy program is designed to enhance students ability to think critically, ask questions, and review previously taught skills in addition to allowing students to engage in fun filled activities. Students will also be exposed to pre-requisite skills for the upcoming school year in Math and Literacy. The program will consist of creative hands-on activities to stimulate and strengthen students’ educational development.

Burgess-Peterson Power Up! Summer Academy
Burgess-Peterson Academy is offering an INVITATION ONLY Summer Reading and Math Academy. BPA is offering specially selected rising Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students, the chance to engage in fun yet rigorous lessons and activities, steeped in the Orton Gillingham, Fountas and Pinnell and Eureka Math Curriculums. This needs based program is by invitation only for students who currently attend Burgess-Peterson Academy. Breakfast and lunch are available at no cost. BPS will also offer Summer Camp through our afterschool care provider.

Toomer Elementary School Power Up
Toomer’s Power Up Summer Academy is thrilled to offer rising 1st - 5th graders a summer of project based learning that will cultivate students to become more internationally minded in our global society. Students will be actively engaged in hands-on, minds-on learning experiences that will build their critical thinking skills. This invitation only program will offer a full day of fun to prepare your child for the upcoming school year! We are also pleased to offer extended day enrichment until 6pm in partnership with Global Tech.

Super STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) is a summer enrichment program for rising 1st-5th grade students at Dunbar Elementary School. This enrichment program provides these students with fun and engaging STEM based activities and projects. Get ready for a summer filled with excitement, engagement, and experiences!

Barack and Michelle Obama Academy has partnered with Emmaus House Freedom School summer program to offer our students an experience to empower them to excel and believe in their ability to make a difference in the world. Join us for a fun-filled summer of learning, engaging activities, field trips and fun!

Parkside Elementary School Summer Academy will provide fun and engaging activities that will help to enhance critical thinking skills in the area of reading and math. Students will also engage in enrichment activities and remediation in reading and math.

King Middle School Summer Enrichment Academy (Hosted at East Lake Elementary School)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School is offering a Summer Enrichment Academy for uprising 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. This enhancement program guides students through engaging lessons focused on Literacy adn Mathematics. We are partnering with Teach For America and the After School All-Stars Program for learning, excitement and fun!

King Middle School Summer Bridge Program
King Middle School's Summer Bridge Program is designed for rising 6th graders in order to ease the transition from elementary to middle school. Participants will engage in a number of experiences such as team building activities, developing study and organizational skills, and touring the campus.

Jackson High School Summer Credit Recovery
This is a Credit Recovery Summer School program to help our students recover credits so that they can graduate on time. Students will engage in learning experiences that will help them master content specific standards through face to face traditional instruction and virtual instruction through the Atlanta Virtual Academy.

Jackson Jaguar Summer Bridge Program
Maynard Jackson High School's Summer Bridge is a three-day program designed to help rising 9th graders prepare for a successful first year of high school. Students will participate in fun and engaging workshop sessions with the goal of fostering a smooth transition to 9th grade while embracing the signature program: International Baccalaureate.
