    Please Note: 

    Transportation is available to students living in pre-determined boundaries from their Power Up Summer Program host sites. The Atlanta Public Schools transportation policy dictates that bus stops are placed outside the shortest 1 mile navigation of elementary schools, and 1½ mile navigation of middle and high schools.  Students living less than the 1 mile or 1 ½ mile boundaries are assigned to the walk-zone. Read important walking safety tips here.

    KinderCamp: Fickett, Continental Colony, Deerwood and Kimberly [Hosted at Fickett]

    KinderCamp is an opportunity for children and their parent to learn routines, become comfortable with the school environment, and ensure that they are Day One ready for Kindergarten.

    Pre-K Summer Transition Program (STP) at Deerwood Academy

    STP for rising kindergarteners is a full-day, 6 week summer program with a focus on language, literacy and math designed to reduce the achivement gap and increase school readiness. Students must need additional academic assistance prior to entering Kindergarten and the family must meet the income requirements (85% of the state median income).

    Make Magic Happen @ STEAM CAMP [For Therrell Cluster Elementary schools, hosted at Deerwood ES] 

    Make Magic Happen at S.T.E.A.M. summer camp is a summer enrichment program for rising 2nd-5th grade students  at Continental Colony, Deerwood, Fickett, and Kimberly Elementary School. The camp will provide a challenging learning environment in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, which maximizes individual potential and ensures students are well-equipped to meet the challenges in the world around them.     Bunche Middle School Power Up Accelerated Enrichment Camp

    Power Up 2020 Accelerated Enrichment Camp will be a Teach for America (TFA) site this summer. TFA will collaborate with Bunche Middle School to effectively implement the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Unit 1 Standards to accelerate and increase student achievement. This curriculum will be used to help to prepare the students for a smoother transition into the 2020-2021 Academic School Year.

    Build a bridge to Bunche Middle School success by orienting rising sixth-grade students on the core principals of Bunche P.R.I.D.E., IB framework, Social Emotional Learning & daily routines.

    Daniel McLaughlin Therrell High School will host a four week summer credit recovery opportunity that is a blend of face-to-face instruction and online instructional platform for multiple content areas.

    Therrell High School Summer Bridge Program

    Daniel McLaughlin Therrell High School is offering a Summer Bridge High Achiever Program for the incoming Freshman Class of 2024.  This four day program provides scholars an opportunity to receive success strategies (i.e. focus note taking strategies and accountability skills), become more acquainted with the high school environment, and participate in a cultural field trip. Also, scholars will be provided with free transportation and lunch.
