Mrs. Donna Davis, A.P.-Special Education


    Mrs. Donna Davis is an Atlanta native with over 15 years of experience in primary and secondary school settings. Mrs. Davis joined Atlanta Public Schools in 2008. She has held several positions during her tenure. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, Mrs. Davis taught Physical Science, Math, and Reading. She has also served as a Curriculum Specialist, Department Chair, Grade Level Chair, New Teacher Mentor, and Instructional Coach. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Georgia State University as well as a Master’s degree in Science Education.   • Dear John Lewis Invictus Academy,

    I would like to introduce myself; I am your 8th grade Assistant Principal of Our John Lewis Invictus Academy. I am honored to serve in this role and will continue to drive excellence for the scholars and families of our great community. It is my mission that I provide an amazing academic experience for every scholar that you invest in our instructional program. My excitement and passion for this work is deeply rooted in the core values that will change the outcomes for scholars in Atlanta. I am committed to building a strong academic foundation that will drive our scholars to new heights.

    Over the past 8 years, I have worked as a teacher/head coach, principal, and Assistant Principal. I have experience in teaching and leading in both the public and charter school arena. My mission as your assistant principal is to provide support and leadership that will facilitate each student in developing the academic and character traits that will carry them beyond their k-12 experience. You have my commitment to being relentless in the pursuit to ensuring that your scholar achieves academic excellence. As someone who has led in both the middle school and high school level, I have placed countless scholars in both competitive colleges and vocational fields all over the country. You have my promise that I will always look to the big picture and the potential of each of our scholars and that you always have my undivided attention.  

    I am a proud father of a beautiful girl by the name of Kadence Fuller, my family is my motivation and I believe in family first. I can ensure you that the love and attention I give my own daughter will be the same I provide to your scholars as I know you are trusting myself and the John Lewis Invictus Academy in providing a first class education to your scholar.

     Mrs. Tonetta Green, A.P.-6th Grade

  • Mrs. Tonetta Green is a native of Atlanta, Georgia with 16 years of educational experience. Mrs. Green has a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from The University of Scranton, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. Her career began in 2005 in Gwinnett County as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher. Because of her passion for learning and growing, she was selected to be in the first Teacher Leadership Cohort for her school. With the tools learned to help build the capacity of others, she sought out stretch opportunities that led her to Atlanta Public Schools in 2007. Mrs. Green served as an 8th grade Language Arts, Math and Social Studies teacher and was soon promoted to a Success for All Reading Facilitator. Mrs. Green has also served Atlanta Public Schools in a variety of other roles as an Instructional Coach, Curriculum and Grant Writer, and District Trainer/Presenter. Mrs. Green is committed to serving students and communities that need her the most.   • AP LaMont        

    Mrs. Lauren LaMont, A.P.-Curriculum and Instruction

  • Mrs. Lauren LaMont began her educational career in 2008 when she joined Teach For America after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech. She taught 7th grade Science at Price Middle School in Atlanta Public Schools. In 2010, she left the classroom to work on staff at Teach For America, where she provided instructional coaching and leadership development to novice teachers across all Metro Atlanta school districts. In 2015, she began working at Banneker High School in South Fulton County as their Coordinator of Professional Learning and Talent Development. There, she oversaw the implementation of school-wide instructional initiatives, in addition to managing the school’s federal School Improvement 1003(g) Grant. While at Banneker HS, she earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University in 2017. Mrs. LaMont is excited to be returning to Atlanta Public Schools this year as JLIA’s Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction.     Dr. Marc Venzen, A.P.-7th Grade

  • Dr. Marc Venzen is a New York City native with 23 years of experience ranging from primary to secondary school. Dr. Venzen joined Atlanta Public Schools in 2012. He has held several positions during his tenure ranging from Site Coordinator Behavior Specialist Department Chair and more prior to being an Assistant Principal. Dr. Venzen has a PH.D in Educational Leadership and has devoted his life to education.  Dr. Venzen is a proud parent of a middle school daughter and is a successful entrepreneur as well.
