Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Carrie Baldwin
Hi there, I’m Carrie Baldwin! I am thrilled to be one of the newest members of the SPARK family! This will be my fourth year teaching, but my first year teaching in 2nd grade, aside from my student teaching experience, and I am beyond excited! Prior to joining APS, I taught 4th grade in Phoenix, Arizona for three years.
I was born and raised in South Carolina, and after three years out west, my husband and I relocated to Georgia to be closer to our families that still remain in SC. I received my undergraduate degree from Clemson University (GO TIGERS!) and my MAT from Anderson University. It feels so good to be back in the south! Phoenix holds a special place in my heart, and if you have the pleasure of exploring my classroom you will see that through my cactus decor. I believe in forming close relationships with my students and families, in order to support a caring and nurturing learning environment. My favorite aspect about being a teacher is witnessing my students’ growth and their many “aha moments”.
On a more personal level, I knew I always wanted to become a teacher. My mother owned a daycare growing up, and my best friends’ mothers were all teachers. Therefore I was surrounded by amazing educators that provided outstanding examples. In my spare time I love to travel, go on walks with my fur baby, Howie, trying new recipes and restaurants, and decorating/organizing.
I can’t wait to begin the school year and see everyone’s smiling faces!
