Brent Bailey, Coordinator of Supplier Diversity, has worked for the Atlanta Public Schools for twenty-two (22) years as a Purchasing Agent, Contract Compliance Liaison and Contract Services Administrator. Brent attended Whiteford Elementary, Coan Middle and W.A. Bass High, all Atlanta Public Schools. He has a B.S. in Political Science from Tuskegee University and a M.P.A. from Georgia State University.
Brent is a product of the Atlanta Public Schools; therefore, it is important to him that all qualified business owners, within the community, have the opportunity to do business with the school district. While working in past positions, Brent witnessed barriers that prevented small and minority firms from doing business with the Atlanta Public Schools. His goal is to remove all obstacles and ensure that information regarding procurement items are readily available.
Brent finds it rewarding to be able to Focus on Student Success through supplier diversity. “Our children, of all races and backgrounds, should witness the school district conducting business with everyone in the community.” It is Brent’s goal to establish a supplier pool that mirrors the diverse student body of the Atlanta Public Schools.
Fun Fact: Brent enjoys playing golf, traveling, and reading materials related to black history and race relations.
