    Delicia D. Heard

As a native of Atlanta, Georgia, Delicia Heard is a product of Atlanta Public Schools. Her mother was a 38-year retiree of APS. APS is where she spent all of her youth and adult years and gained many years of administrative professional, legal, and finance experience which has allowed her to extend her ministry of serving, mentoring, training and educating the public.

Delicia has 15+ years of administrative, organization, and financial experience. In the summers of 1997 and 1998, she began her professional journey with APS as a summer office assistant, assisting the Strategic Planning Office with community engagement. She went on to work with several departments including Programs for Exceptional Children, Payroll, and Nutrition. Outside of APS, Delicia has worked for Fulton County Government and Bible Way Ministries, Int’l. In 2011, Delicia returned to Atlanta Public Schools where she joined the Facilities Services Team as an administrative clerk assisting the supervisors with data entry, utility accounts, personnel, and time in Kronos for payroll.

Delicia started her higher education studying Music Education at Clark Atlanta University. She later realized her desire was not necessarily to be in the classroom but to follow her mother’s footsteps in assisting students beyond the classroom. She went on to study Administrative Management at Clayton State University so that she could better serve from behind the scenes.

Fun Fact:  Delicia loves singing and traveling with my family.
