Dedrick McCord
Data Strategist
Dedrick is a Data Fellow at the Harvard University Strategic Data Project where he has partnered with APS to work on equity data strategy. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Evergreen State College and a Master’s in Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford School at the University of Michigan where he concentrated on Policy Analysis Methods.
Dedrick believes in global citizenship and is passionate about improving humanities equity standards. He has run several non-profits and education platforms that focused on equity goals such as improving living standards on the Navajo Nation, creating sustainable food systems in Thailand, and improving the conditions of schools in Cambodia and Laos.
Dedrick also has experience as an instructional aide within the Los Angeles Unified School district, which centered his equity focus on education and led him to Atlanta Public Schools. He hopes to leverage his education and experience to help APS make data informed decisions that minimize opportunity gaps and increase equity throughout the district.
Fun Fact: Dedrick has played guitar in bands titled the Moshed Potatoes and the Savage Patch Kids.
