    Robocall June 2, 2022

    Good afternoon Summer School Parents.

This is Kimberly Moore, assistant principal at Booker T. Washington High School and currently serving as the site administrator for the Summer School Program hosting students from Washington and Carver Early College this summer. Parents this call is going out with several reminders for summer school. We do want to remind everyone that class starts at 9:10 a.m.  We do open earlier for breakfast once buses begin arriving at 8:15 a.m.  However, all students must be on campus and in class by 9:10 a.m.  No students will be admitted to summer school after 9:45 a.m. without a parent.  Parents, we do want you to know we are operating at a heightened security level due to the recent events that have occurred within the United States over the last few weeks.  We are operating and using measures and guidance issued from the school district and school administration.  We do want you to know our goal is to keep all students and staff safe.  We do conduct daily continuous checks of the school grounds and are limiting guests.  We have other measures we've implemented within the building that we will not release just due to safety measures. Because we are operating at a heightened alert, there are certain measures that also must be taken in regards to students, book bags are not allowed, only small purses.  All students entering must enter through the metal detector and must be checked and cleared before entering the building.  There are certain actions that will result in an immediate dismissal from the Summer School Program. This includes being in an unauthorized area of the building, opening doors to the exterior of the building, or failure to follow safety rules that have been established by the Summer School administration.  These activities will get students immediately dismissed from the Summer School Program.  Parents, we do know that there have been several calls regarding transportation issues.  If you are experiencing any issue with bus transportation, please call 404-802-5500.  Please note there may be an extended wait time for the Transportation Department.  If you have any other questions or concerns regarding the Summer School Program, please give us a call at 404-802-4657.  We are fielding a number of calls, so please leave a message and your call will be returned by a member of the Summer School staff.  Thank you again and we do look forward to working with your students this summer in our Summer School Program and we look to having a safe, smooth operating program.

Robocall May 28th and May 31st Summer School Begins June 1

This is a reminder that your child is registered for summer school at Booker T. Washington High School. Summer school begins on Tuesday, June 1st at 8:45 A.M. Your child should report on time daily until all of their credit recovery courses are completed. If you need to know your student's bus route, information can be found on the Atlanta Public Schools website at https://www.atlantapublicschools.us/Page/56058. Parents, please be aware that all Atlanta Public Schools Student Code of Conduct guidelines apply during the summer. Violations of the code of conduct are not tolerated during summer school. Also, please speak with your students about proper attire for school. Although it is the summer, students are still expected to dress appropriately for the school environment. It is our hope that all students are able to successfully complete all coursework needed for them to get back on track for an on-time graduation. Our staff of administrators, counselor, teachers and support personnel are here to assist them in doing so. If you have any questions, you may contact our summer school clerk at 404-802-4657.
