Equitable Learning Environments (ELE)

  • Office of Equitable Learning Environments (ELE): Provides technical support and develops programming for the Schools and Academics Divisions. The team also provides technical support and programming for school-based staff and personnel.

    We do this by:

    • Gathering, synthesizing and making recommendations based on data and stakeholder (internal and external) feedback to ensure that we are delivering the best service possible.

    • Providing technical assistance to district and schools around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to ensure that every child has access to high-quality curriculum, instructional resources, and whole child supports

    • Working to remove barriers to learning by advancing access to an equitable learning environment for all learners through the codification of a rigorous and equitable MTSS Systems, (K-12) SEL and Counseling curriculum, and ensuring equitable access to other student supports and wrap-around services in partnership with families and community members.

    • Developing tools and protocols designed to integrate equity considerations meaningfully into the district and school decision-making processes, and supporting the successful implementation of such to ensure fidelity and that our beliefs, structures, and actions are aligned so that equity can manifest.

    • Offering comprehensive and ongoing professional learning opportunities, for school based and central office personnel, aimed at building DEI capacity and develop the appropriate equity lens and professional stamina to address equity issues as related to their scopes of work.
