Time Share Sick Leave Bank

As part of Atlanta Public Schools’ mission to create a caring and collaborative culture where employees have the opportunity to offer meaningful support to one another during difficult times, we are proud to announce the creation of the Atlanta Public Schools Time Share Sick Leave Bank – APS Time Share Bank.
The APS Time Share Bank allows you to donate sick leave to a community pool where you and your fellow employees can request additional sick leave in case of a catastrophic illness or injury when all existing leave has been depleted.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The APS Time Share Sick Leave Bank is available to full-time employees with at least one year of service and a minimum of seven full days of accrued sick leave.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
It only cost you 2 sick leave days to enroll. Future donations may be required if the sick leave bank is depleted.
CAN I DONATE SICK LEAVE TO A SPECIFIC EMPLOYEE?
Yes, you can donate a maximum of 10 days sick leave to a specific employee. Both you and the employee need to be members of the Sick Leave Bank to do so.
HOW CAN I MAKE A WITHDRAWAL?
Active members of the Time Share Sick Leave Bank, diagnosed with a catastrophic personal illness or injury that has been medically certified, and have exhausted all their sick, personal, and annual leave, can submit a Sick Leave Withdrawal Application at least two (2) weeks before a scheduled need.
