Emotional Wellness
Emotional Well-being
Emotional wellbeing is essential for maintaining a positive and resilient mindset, especially in the high-demand environment of education. When staff feel emotionally supported, they’re better equipped to manage stress, build strong relationships, and create nurturing spaces for students. Our district offers a range of resources from Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, counseling support, and mindfulness activities to help staff navigate challenges and build emotional resilience. Prioritizing your mental health is not just beneficial for you, but also for the entire school/departmental community.
Telus Health EAP
TELUS Health EAP provides you and your family with immediate and confidential help for work, health or life concerns. There is no cost to you! TELUS Health aids with support of wellbeing, managing relationships and family, deal with workplace challenges, get legal advice, financial support, etc.
All staff have access to TELUS Health, a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to get help in all of life's questions.
Access TELUS Health 24/7, 365 days a year by calling the APS dedicated number 800-455-2780, or log into the platform through the HR SharePoint Site.
TELUS Health offers short-term, solution focused counseling where the number of sessions are determined by clinical need.
Counseling Supports
APS offers counseling support to staff members who are struggling with difficult situations. We offer individual counseling consultation with mental health professionals, referrals to community resources, support groups, and training on how to recognize and respond to crisis. If you are an APS staff member who is struggling, please know that you are not alone. We are here to help.
