School-Based Health Centers

Atlanta Public Schools promotes access to health care by working collaboratively with local federally qualified health centers to provide a range of medical services that support students’ health, wellness, and academic success.

School-Based Health Centers (SCHC) reduce barriers to care by offering convenient, on-site health services operated by licensed medical providers. Services are available to all APS students at participating school locations with parental consent.

Clinics accept Medicaid, PeachCare for Kids, most private insurance plans, and offer sliding-scale fees for uninsured families. No student is denied care based on the ability to pay.

Services may include:
  • Immunizations
  • Well-checks and preventive care
  • Sports Physicals
  • Treatment of chronic and acute illnesses
  • Behavioral health services
  • Oral health services
  • Referrals to specialty or community providers
