Organizations Wishing to Formalize a Partnership with an APS School: MOU Process*
Organizations who follow all steps below resulting in having a current fully executed MOU on file will be listed on the district’s Partnerships site as current partners. Before following the steps below, organizations should ensure that their status with the state of Georgia is current in regard to doing business and operating within the state.
- Complete the Partnership Interest Form. We will be in touch to schedule a meeting if necessary.
- Meet with departments and/or school(s) to determine their interest in a partnership.
After a department and/or school has determined that they want a partnership, the organization will:
- Complete the APS Memorandum of Understanding template. Organizations will complete the APS MOU template. Organizations have the option of attaching their own agreement within the completed APS MOU as Exhibit A.
- Send the MOU for review. Send the completed MOU to the department or school leader (or designee) for review. The department/school leader or designee will review Exhibit A of the MOU. Exhibit A is where organizations list the expectations of the organization and school. The organization will revise Exhibit A based on feedback. Department/School leaders don’t sign MOUs or agreements.
- Sign and submit the MOU. Organizations will sign the completed APS MOU, and email the APS MOU to Tunishia Dickerson, tunishia.dickerso@atlanta.k12.ga.us.
- Wait until the MOU is approved before beginning services. We (APS) will submit the MOU to legal for review. Legal will complete the review in a minimum of 10 business days from the day they receive it. Legal may have edits or questions, please be sure our office has the correct contact information.
MOUs must be renewed each school year.
*An MOU is used when services are provided at no cost to schools or district departments.
