Properties
Atlanta Public Schools (APS) is thoughtfully reimagining and repurposing district properties to align with the long-term vision outlined in APS 2040. As the district evaluates shifting enrollment patterns, facility conditions, and community needs, surplus and underutilized sites are being repositioned to support new opportunities for students, families, and neighborhoods. This approach prioritizes community good, sustainability, strong stewardship of public assets, and meaningful partnership while ensuring that every property supports the district’s long-term operational strength and its role within the City of Atlanta. This page shares information about district properties, the repurposing pipeline, and how APS is planning for a future-ready, right-sized footprint that meets the needs of Atlanta for decades to come.

News and Updates
To reduce blight in our communities, APS is moving forward with demolition of Anderson Park, Pryor Street, Brewer, Peterson, West Atlanta and potentially additional sites as appropriate and funds allow.
Fourteen additional APS Properties have been declared surplus allowing the district to explore potential sale and/or trade of properties.
To transform underused district sites into long-term community assets, APS and AUDC entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement to evaluate and reposition a set of APS properties in a coordinated, community-focused way.
