Atlanta Public Schools is committed to helping every student stay on track for graduation and prepare for success beyond high school.

The APS Future Ready Summer Advisement Program provides rising juniors and seniors with targeted summer support focused on graduation readiness, postsecondary planning, financial aid completion, and academic gap reduction.

Through in-person and virtual advisement opportunities, students will receive individualized guidance to help them understand their progress, complete next steps, and begin the school year with a clear plan for success.

What Is the APS Future Ready Summer Advisement Program?

The APS Future Ready Summer Advisement Program is a summer support opportunity designed to help rising juniors and seniors prepare for graduation, college, career, and life.

Through the program, students can:

  • Review graduation requirements and credit progress
  • Receive support with transcript audits and academic planning
  • Create or update a postsecondary plan
  • Receive FAFSA and financial aid support
  • Address outstanding graduation gaps, including service hours
  • Explore college, career, workforce, military, and entrepreneurship pathways
  • Leave each advisement session with a clear, documented action plan

Summer is an important time to help students resolve academic gaps, confirm graduation progress, and prepare for the year ahead.

The program is designed to:

  • Support students before the fall semester begins
  • Help rising seniors stay on track for graduation
  • Reduce missing credits and scheduling issues

  • Provide families with clearer next steps for postsecondary readiness

Program Schedule

Phase 1: In-Person Advisement

Dates:
June 8 – June 26, 2026

Time:
8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Sites:

  • Washington
  • North Atlanta
  • South Atlanta
  • Midtown High School

Phase 2: Virtual Advisement Sessions

Dates:
July 6 – July 10, 2026

Morning Sessions:
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Evening Sessions:
3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

What Students Will Receive

Students participating in the APS Future Ready Summer Advisement Program will receive personalized support from APS counselors and college advisers.

Support areas include:

  • Graduation audit checklists
  • Postsecondary planning guides
  • FAFSA support
  • Advisement tracking
  • Student meeting logs
  • College and career pathway planning
  • Credit and graduation clearance support

Who Should Participate?

The program is designed for rising juniors and rising seniors who need support with graduation planning, postsecondary readiness, or unresolved academic requirements.

Families are encouraged to participate if their student needs help understanding graduation status, completing next steps, or preparing for life after high school.
