• The Mathematics Department of Benjamin E. Mays High School is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where students and parents are encouraged to explore the beauty and complexities of mathematics. With over a combined 80 years of experience in education, our faculty aims to engage students through inquiry based learning, practical and real world applications of content, and opportunity for mathematical advancement.

    The Mathematics Department offers the following courses: GSE Algebra l, GSE Geometry, GSE Algebra ll, GSE Pre-Calculus, GSE Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Statistics. Students must complete a minimum of four math courses, beginning with GSE Algebra l. Students following an advanced academic pathway, or who take accelerated courses beginning in 8th or 9th grade, must complete at least one AP level or dual enrollment mathematics course.
