• Ms. Kareem Earns $4,000 in grants!
    Karem and class

Bejanae Kareem, a second grade teacher at Parkside Elementary, has honed her grant writing skills and recently awarded over $4000 in grant money.

Ms. Kareem saw a need in her class to obtain funding to carry out special projects. “It has been a challenge to find funding for special projects. However, there are several resources where you can design a project and people in the community will donate and help purchase things you need for your students” said Ms. Kareem.

Not only did Ms. Kareem find funding for class projects, but also to help improve teacher, parent, and student collaboration as well as her school’s robotics team. Ms. Kareem is a tremendous asset to our school, said principal Phillip Luck.  ”The grant money she earned has provided an incredible amount of support to not only her classroom but our entire student body, especially the after school robotics program.”
