Per State Superintendent Woods: Georgia school districts should not require virtual students to come into the building solely for the purpose of taking Georgia Milestones, and should ensure that parents understand this option is available to them.
What does this mean?
This new guidance means that students whose families have chosen to continue virtual learning should be given the opportunity to come to school to test. These students should not be required to come to the building to take the Milestones assessments. If a student is engaged in face-to-face instruction, the expectation is that the student will sit for the Georgia Milestones assessments.
