Atlanta Public Schools wants to engage parents, employees, and community members in determining a long-term vision for building stronger schools for our students.
Additionally, the Georgia General Assembly has established June 30, 2015 as the deadline for each school system to inform the Georgia Department of Education of any intention to seek flexibility options and waivers to state law and the Georgia Department of Education policies and regulations. Local school systems are encouraged to seek waivers from Title 20 statutes, which will enable districts to exercise flexibility in educational innovation and in the reallocation of resources to increase student achievement. These flexibility options will be linked to district and school-level decision-making and governance.
