Atlanta Public Schools (“APS” “we,” or “our”) operates www.atlantapublicschools.us,  any other websites that link to this Privacy Policy (each a “Website” and collectively, the “Websites”)  and the APS mobile application (the “App”). For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the Websites and the App are collectively referred to as the “Services.” This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom it is disclosed, the purpose disclosed, and the rights you may have available to you regarding your personal information. This Privacy Policy covers personal information collected on through the Services and in connection with our products and other services. The Privacy Policy does not apply to any website operated by a third party that has a separate privacy policy.

• Device Information such as device model, internet protocol (IP) address, cookies, beacons, pixel tags, mobile ad identifier, or similar unique identifiers.
• Internet/Network Activity such as your interaction with the website, application, or platform.
• Commercial information such as products you have purchased and services you have enrolled in or purchased.
• Demographic Information such as age, gender, race, ethnicity, estimated income, and household information, some of which may include characteristics of protected classifications under state or federal law.
• Limited Health Information such as medical conditions, immunization records, treatment details, or insurance data that may not be covered under full HIPAA protections but still require privacy safeguards.
• Geolocation Information such as country, city, and zip code as determined by your IP address.
• Job Application Information such as work history, tax identification or other government identification number, education history, eligibility or right to work, citizenship, information relating to your fitness for the position, information relating to conflict-of-interest issues, and other information necessary to consider your candidacy, perform background checks, and initiate on-boarding, as applicable.

You may also provide us additional information at your sole discretion when you contact us via the webform or talk to our representatives. 

Use of Information

We use your personal information to:

• Provide the Services and other products you request;
• Contact you about information that you indicate you would like to receive;
• Communicate with you and respond to questions you send us;
• Improve our offerings and understand how you interact with the Services;
• To assess your job application;
• Creating, managing and administering your account;

• Third parties to  protect the security and integrity of the Websites and correct any technical problems and malfunctions;
• Governmental entities such as E-Verify, I-9 verification services, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), as required by law; and
• With your consent.
• We may share information, including personal information, with third-parties for the following reasons:
• To operate, maintain, upgrade, and otherwise manage our Services;
• To investigate, prosecute, or otherwise respond to allegation of unauthorized access or use of the Services;
• To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;

Because APS is a public entity, certain information we maintain may be subject to disclosure under certain laws such as the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) and the Georgia Open Records Act (“Ga. ORA”). APS is committed to complying with all applicable federal and state privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA).
