• Atlanta College and Career Academy (ACCA)

    Atlanta Public Schools and Atlanta Technical College  partnered to create the Atlanta College and Career Academy to prepare high school students for high demand, highly skilled technical careers.  As a 21st century technical center, the Atlanta College and Career Academy provides new opportunities for APS students to complete dual enrollment courses offered by Atlanta Technical College and gain exposure to career pathways not available in their high schools. Students can earn technical certificates of study and an industry certification. 

    Some of the popular career pathways that will be offered include:

    • Automotive Chassis Technology
    • Computer Information Systems (CISCO Networking)
    • Early Childhood Care and Education
    • Biotechnology
    • Cosmetology
    • Design and Media Production Technology
    • Patient Care Assisting
    • General Education Courses (English, mathematics, social studies, science etc...)

    The Atlanta College and Career Academy Advisory Board includes representatives from Atlanta Public Schools, Atlanta Technical College, Achieve Atlanta, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Delta Airlines, Holder Construction Companyand IBM have been named to serve on the ACCA board. Lt. Governor Casey Cagle praised the new APS/Atlanta Technical College partnership.
