Coughs and sneezes that are not related to COVID-19 or other illness will understandably occur, and SPARK will need to teach proper coughing and sneezing etiquette when wearing a mask. It is still a good idea to cough or sneeze into one’s elbow, with a mask on. Then, the student or staff member must wash their hands and change to a clean mask at the next opportunity, placing their original mask in a Ziploc bag. If coughing is repeated, students should be evaluated by the school nurse and possibly sent home. Adults should arrange coverage and leave in order to be tested.
