APS COVID19 Mitigation Strategies
As we prepare for the 2022-23 school year, we would like to provide an update on the COVID-19 mitigation strategies that will be in place.
- Masks will remain optional in all APS facilities and school buses.
- APS will continue offering COVID-19 testing twice per week. Staff are required to test once weekly, while student testing will remain optional.
- APS will continue to follow DPH Isolation and Quarantine guidelines. APS isolation and quarantine guidelines can be found here: https://www.atlantapublicschools.us/Page/66450
- Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will need to follow isolation guidelines
- Individuals exposed to a positive COVID-19 should follow quarantine guidelines to determine whether they need to stay at home
- Close contacts who are unvaccinated, not up to date on their vaccines and have a COVID-19 exposure at an APS facility can participate in our Test to Stay program instead of quarantining at home.
Students and staff who test positive or have a COVID-19 exposure must complete a self-report form found at the following link: https://www.atlantapublicschools.us/Page/64958.
Please help APS Health Services & Springdale Park maintain a healthy and safe environment for students, staff, and our expanded APS community as we welcome the 2022-23 school year and continue to focus on academic success.
Should you have any questions about APS COVID-19 guidance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our school nurse, Kim Carr. Nurse Carr's email address is KCarr@atlanta.k12.ga.us.
