Field Trips at SPARK

Each grade level has planned a variety of educational study/field trips for the 2022-2023 school year that correlate to the instructional content at each grade level.  A detailed list of the dates and locations of the field trips will be provided by your child’s teacher. 

Parents must provide permission for their child(ren) to participate in these field trips.  There is a one-time fee of $60 for each child at SPARK.  This fee will cover all costs associated with field trips for your child(ren) for the school year. (Exception of the 5th grade overnight field trip) Field trip payments should be made by visiting https://apsk12.schoolcashonline.com/.

Chaperones must be arranged by contacting your child’s homeroom teacher. All chaperones/volunteers MUST complete a background check with the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) security office.  Once arranged through your child’s teacher, a background check form may be requested from your child’s teacher or from the school’s main office.  Completed forms must be reviewed and signed by Springdale Park personnel prior to reporting to APS security office. 

All precautions will be taken to safeguard all students, staff and volunteers, however, you should carefully evaluate the hazards involved before granting your permission.  Please review the district transportation policy in the APS policy manual. 

It is mandatory that we have a signed permission slip on file for each student before he/she/they are allowed to participate in any educational study/field trips. Your child's teacher will send home a field trip permission form to be signed and returned to school.
