Home to 495 students in kindergarten through 5th grades, Garden Hills Elementary provides a positive learning environment designed to help children reach their full potential – both as students and individuals. Our school has a well-earned reputation for effectively and creatively meeting the needs of each child. We maintain our standard of excellence by providing our students with:
- Model foreign language programs
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP)
- Gifted education offerings
- Rigorous and challenging academic programs
- Dual Immersion
- Small class sizes
Built in 1938, Garden Hills Elementary is on the National Register of Historic Places. The beautiful (and recently renovated) brick building is nestled among the older homes and stately trees of Atlanta's historic Garden Hills neighborhood. Additional green space and campus renovations that compliment the beautiful historic building are planned for the coming year.
Our school currently serves historic Buckhead neighborhoods including Garden Hills, Peachtree Park, Peachtree Heights, Lindridge Martin Manor and the much anticipated Streets of Buckhead. Our Mission Statement
Garden Hills Elementary School will develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are well-informed and respectful of others.
Our Approach
We work to develop confident, independent individuals with a desire for learning and respect for others.
We hold our students to the highest academic standards while providing them with the direction, support, and encouragement they need to be successful.
Because children learn in different ways, we offer flexible programs that help each child meet his or her maximum potential. Our students benefit from small class sizes that promote classroom unity and foster lasting friendships. At Garden Hills children are taught respect for the individual and are empowered to go out into the world with compassion and caring for others.
Visitor Information & Parking
Any visitor entering the building should enter through the front door and check in at the front office. All visitors are asked to sign-in, share the purpose for their visit with one of the secretaries, and put on a “visitor” sticker. When a visitor is ready to leave, they must sign out in the office.
