The Hollis Community Mourns Social Worker, Mrs. Marilyn Johnican

Marilyn Johnican We are deeply saddened to share the news that our beloved social worker, Mrs. Marilyn Johnican, has passed away. Her dedication to our students and their families is unparalleled, and a void is profoundly felt in our community.

Mrs. Johnican demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Hollis and a true passion for her work. She left her mark on our hearts and on our school in so many ways. During her time at Hollis, she initiated the Hollis Kindness Club, which will continue its mission to help others and exemplify empathy and compassion. Those students whose lives she touched will forever remember her. Mrs. Johnican also spearheaded the establishment of the Hollis Care Pantry, our on-site food pantry for Hollis families. She worked tirelessly in collaboration with Atlanta Community Food Bank to ensure our families have access to food.

Her love for others and her deep desire to serve have left a lasting impression on our entire community. We have not only lost a co-worker, but a friend, a member of our CREW. Her legacy will continue to live on through our work at Hollis, and we hope that you will join us in keeping her family and loved ones in your thoughts, especially during this holiday season.

We love you, Mrs. Johnican!
