Greetings David T. Howard Middle School Family!

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Tekeshia Hollis is the Principal for Howard Middle School for the 2023-24 school year. She will begin her new role as Principal on January 17, 2023.

For the remainder of this current school year, Dr. Snowden and Mrs. Shea will continue the day-to-day operations and management of Howard Middle school, which will give Ms. Hollis the opportunity to get to know the Howard community and plan for next school year. This is our commitment from the district to honor our stakeholders and our commitment to putting students first.

The transition period for Ms. Hollis will span the remainder of second semester to honor the commitments made to the Howard community.  During her transitional period, Ms. Hollis will immerse herself in Howard culture by establishing strong relationships with the scholars, staff, Howard High School alums, and the school community at large.  It is our hope that this process will allow Ms. Hollis adequate time to engage the total school community, recruit staff, build a budget, conduct a needs assessment, and appropriately plan for the 2023-2024 school year.

We have scheduled a Meet and Greet for staff Wednesday, January 18, at 4:30 p.m., in the Howard Media Center, followed by a Meet and Greet for parents and community members, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be other opportunities for parents or staff members to engage with Mrs. Hollis during the transition period.  Those dates and times will be forthcoming.
