Miles ES - National BETA School of Merit 2020-2021

Miles being recognized by the National BETA Club as a 2020-21 School of Merit is awesome news. I am proud to display the school's BETA decal in my APS email signature. Despite the pandemic, we orchestrated a beautiful Induction Ceremony, and our guest speaker was none other than our new Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Herring. Miles had 21 BETA members on our Roster this year, and can boast of a Speech and a Technology Competition win from the virtual National Jr. BETA Convention. The club's most important distinction is their demonstration of Leadership during the Miles Read Across America Service Project and the Books for Africa Initiative in association with APS Board Member Erica Mitchell.  Finally, Miles BETA sponsors collaborated with Emma Hutchinson Elementary to re-start a Jr. BETA the school. Area Superintendent Dr. Danielle Battle was the Special Guest Speaker. Hutchinson BETA members also exemplified pillars of Leadership with a Read Across America Read Aloud Project.

This has indeed been a monumental BETA kind of year!
