Two SURPRISE Announcements for Seniors at Mays High School, Friday

Two students will receive acceptances to Georgia Tech while the entire senior class will be accepted to Morris Brown College

ATLANTA –  When the entire senior class at Benjamin E. Mays High School is brought into the auditorium on Friday morning, they will be under the impression that they will be taking part in another assembly to talk about graduation requirements.

WRONG!

Instead, they will witness two surprise announcements:

  • As Friday is Early Action Decision Day for Georgia Tech, two seniors at Mays who have applied to the school will receive their early action acceptances personally, from Kevin Dodson, Assistant Director of Multicultural Recruitment. (Most students will receive emails from Tech’s Admissions Office.)
  • Then, Principal Ramon Garner will announce to the entire senior class that ALL OF THEM have been granted acceptance into Morris Brown College, which recently reclaimed all of its accreditations.

WHAT:          Two surprise announcements to seniors at Mays High School: Two seniors receive word of their early acceptance into Georgia Tech, and all graduating seniors are accepted into Morris Brown College.

WHERE:       Benjamin E. Mays High School | 3450 Benjamin E. Mays Drive, SW

WHEN:         Friday, December 8, 2023 | 9 - 9:45 AM
